The CMG is a never been built on site of just over half an hectare. After the local housing estate was built in the 1930’s, the site was used as allotments until eventually falling into disuse in the 1980’s. It was then earmarked for housing development. But with the untiring help and support of the local residents, was acquired and built into a Millennium Green on a 999 year lease from Redbridge Council in 1999. Funding was provided by local residents and from the National Lottery. The CMG is registered as a charitable trust.
